Standing Out From The Crowd

But Daniel had purposed in his heart not to defile himself with the king's meat nor with the wine which he drank...Daniel 1:8a.

We must strive to be like Daniel when we face peer pressure or even influences from the worldly things in our environment. Daniel had made up in his mind that he was going to live for God; he refused to pollute his body with the delicacies provided by the king of Babylon. Daniel's decision to be committed to God caused him to stand out from the crowd.

Oftentimes our friends, our families, or our environments present to us delicacies that would pollute our bodies but as the elect of God we must decide to live a life that is pleasing to our King.

As chosen vessels, our relationship with God impacts every area of our lives; what we watch, what we hear, what we say, what we do and even what we eat.

Let us as the elect display kosher living by purposing in our hearts to stand out from the crowd.

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness and into His marvelous light; 1 Peter 2:9
